After 51 consecutive days working long hours in a hurricane of sawdust, the storm has finally dissipated. The howling jointer, screaming planer, roaring table saw, and whining orbital sanders have all fallen silent, their mighty hearts stilled, at least for a while. I have no addiction to working that much, but faced with daunting equipment challenges and inadequacies, I had no choice other than to beat the challenge into submission with relentless perseverance. I hate to disappoint people that are counting on me. Last door, a barn-door type slider, delivered to a happy customer, on time (but only just), and on budget this morning, then an unrelated door built and my part completed at one of the shops I freelance at. Gonna take the next 5 days off and chill, get a bit of stuff done around here, with no pressing agenda. Perfect and coincidental timing, considering its my birthday tomorrow. Get re-acquainted with the quiet and peace out here. Go hang out with some noisy friends. :D
