I took my car to Autotech because I knew about their reputation of being honest and forthright with their customers. I also knew that they would not attempt to cut corners and that they would repair my car so that it would be safe to operate. I met with the owner (Dean) and he definitely lived up to and exceeded the expectations that I had of Autotech. I did not know how to deal with my insurance company and was also unaware of my rights as a consumer. To say that Dean went out of his way to educate me and to provide me with a perspective on what to expect from the insurance company is an understatement. He explained the whole process and provided me with knowledge that I was able to use to deal with my insurance company. He also went out of his way to explain my options concerning my car. After the insurance company initially determined that my car was totaled, he explained to me how I can determine the market value of my car and how to use and understand the Comparable Vehicle Details report (provided by the insurance company). He explained how important it was for me to spend some time determining the retail value of my car. Thus, he suggested that I do some research on my own and he explained how to go about doing this research. He spent an unusual amount of his time explaining this process to me. He wanted to make absolutely sure that the market value of my car as determined by the insurance company was correct or a very close approximation. After receiving the Valuation report for my car from my insurance company, Dean made a few calls on my behalf for cars that were listed in the report that were supposedly for sale and supposedly represented the true market value of my car. In one case, the car was not in stock. In another case, when Dean called to see if the car was for sale, the phone number was for a mechanics shop that did not even sell cars. I would not have thought about making those calls. Because of Dean I was able to increase the insurance companys market value of my car by $2400!! As a result of this increase, I am now able to purchase a new vehicle. It should be noted that the insurance company ultimately decided to not total my car. After providing them with the research I found about the retail value of my car, they called back the next day and offered me the additional $2400. And, they said that I had the option of repairing the car or receiving an amount for the car. I know I would not have had this option provided to me, if it were not for Deans help. I would highly recommend Autotech to anyone who would like work with a person (Dean) and a shop that focuses on the customers needs. It is very obvious that Dean cares about his customers and he will make sure that they make an informed decision about their vehicle. • • •
