After I got off work today (at the Giant on 39) I made a few stops and ended up at WalMart . . . . yes, have to admit it but I do shop at WalMart. Well, as I was amused by a display and chuckling to myself, a very nice young couple turn around and comment, arent you the lady from Giant on 39? At first I didnt recall them at all but then I remembered bagging their groceries. They were so pleased I remembered them, but I was even more pleased that they remembered me as the lady from Giant. How about that . . . . . the lady from Giant. I know this may sound a bit silly and insignificant but I do love my job, and when someone takes that extra moment to stop and show their respect I know that I am doing my job. I then told them I was glad they stopped and they proceeded to say and we are really glad we did. I may not get paid much, dont need any specialized degree, and simply ring up and bag groceries, but I will tell you that I have been rewarded in so many ways. I would not trade my cashier position at the Giant on 39 for any other job.
