After I wrote about my opinion of pitbulls and how my neighbor hood is full of them , I was given a lot of grief , and told just how wrong I am , that they arent nothing but big teddy bears . Recently , in my neighborhood a small dog was killed , by one of these teddy bears . In all honesty , I cannot completely blame the Pit bull . The little dog got out of his house and wondered in to the perimeter of the chained pit bull . Even more recently , Joanne and I put our truck in the shop and walked home . We walked past a house and a tiger stripped pit bull came running out barking and growling . I took a stand and the dog stopped , I yelled at the house that I was going to shoot their dog , I had my 38 derringer . A young woman came out and grabbed her dog and apologized . I wonder how differently this would have turned out had I not taken a stand because I was unarmed . I still say the majority of these dogs are dangerous , because of their past breeding to be fighters , but I do think what contributes even more to the dogs bad reputation is so many of them have irresponsible owners .
