After a 30+ hour commute, I am finally safely back in my compound in Kabul. I had an amazing visit with friends and family. Unfortunately, there were a lot of things going on and I didnt get to spend as much time with my loved ones as I would have liked. I did manage to get my house packed up and into storage. My people will have it touched up, cleaned, and rented hopefully within a month. I would love to thank the people that helped me get so much done in such a small amount of time including Delores and Rick James, the best neighbors anybody could ever have. And a special thanks with love to my girls Marisa Schramm and Brittany Schramm for going on vacation with me...it was a great break from the Chicago winter and just what I needed. And many thanks to Cristin for taking Kabuki the Wonder Dog in as a foster until I get back from Afghanistan. He was so upset that he wouldnt come to say goodbye to mama as I was leaving. I am going to miss him so much. But Cristins family already loves Kabuki as they have been walking him for me since I got over here. Thankfully, however, I will be back in August when my grandson is born. I got to talk to him quite a bit when I was home. We already have a bond. Love and kisses from Afghanistan.
