After a busy week at CHS, Hane and I sucked it up and took our friend, Karen Benuska, up to Las Cruces to hear the dress rehearsal for their first subscription concert. So glad that we did! LC Sym is such a fine orchestra. Wonderful to see Michael Goldman in the concertmaster chair--his solos were beautiful as were the solos of my friend,Claudia Encarnacion. As I get ready to leave this teaching profession, I am getting very sentimental. Just loved seeing my former students: Anita Steadman, Elijah E. Jacob, Jaime Herrera,Jose Rios, William Karel Scholten, Michael Minor and student interns Rodrigo Maldonado and Evan Dorbandt. The young cello soloist was adorable and very impressive. One to watch for in the future. And I thought that Lonnie did a great job of catching the tricky entrances in the cello concerto. We will look forward to the next LC Sym concert!
