After a comment I made in my last Facebook posting I got to thinking that there will always be a degree of controlling in the free marketplace, whether by each of us controlling ourselves, or by someone else controlling us. Under the healthcare marketplace the controlling comes from government, requiring the businesses and citizens to pay fines, to try providing healthcare for everyone. Under the healthcare system prior to President Obama in its ideal form, I believe the controlling begins with ones self. One person chooses in freedom to remain chaste for strong families, and to not smoke for good health, and to go to school for personal economic freedom, where healthcare benefits are often one of the benefits for strong families. And in their self-controlling mechanism they are free to choose whatever they want, with minimal regulations, requiring less large government. And religion again I believe is the foundation for a strong, self controlling family who chooses to be happy, who can choose in patience to acquire healthcare coverage from an employer who is free to provide the healthcare coverage on their own terms. Controlling is natural for a system. I, however, would rather control myself, with religion as the guidelines for how to control myself, with the benefit of religious freedom, to choose for myself which religion will teach me my self controlling mechanism. This is better to me than having no self control or minimal self control, and in effect requiring the government or someone else to control me in the system that we live in.
