After a dance competition, I am often asked by my coworkers, friends, and family, How did it go. Usually I just say it went very well, but this past weekend at Midwest Starz, there was so much for me to tell people that I really couldnt just say, it went well so I though Id just share the email I sent out to the dancers & parents for those of you that are interested... Midwest Starz Wrap-Up Wow! Wow, Wow, WOW!! This weekend was great and all the dancers were fantastic! This was a huge undertaking bringing all of these dancers and 60 dances to the competition this past weekend, but between the veteran dancers and the first time dancers we had a very successful weekend, and I am beyond proud of each and everyone of our dancers at the studio. Senior Stars Small Group: The Door 2nd Overall ~ Wicked Games 1st Overall Mini Rising Stars Large Group: Hokey Pokey [Recreational Class] 5th Overall ~ Lil Miss Swagger [Recreational Class] 3rd Overall ~ Bird Party 1st Overall Teen Stars Large Group - Happy Feet 4th Overall ~ With or Without You 2nd Overall - Run the World 1st Overall Teen Starz Line - The Tribe 1st Overall This competition also gave out awards to Stand Out Dancers, which is an award recognizing them for their performance and dancing abilities from their solo, duets, trios, and/or groups. These dancers can go to Nationals for Midwest Starz in Wisconsin Dells and dance in their opening number in which they fly in a choreographer just for these Stand Out Dancers. Several of our dancers were selected for this award and they are: Henley Godnai, Hope Phillips, Reese Nicklin, Summer Baregi, Abby Lonne, Zoe Kunze, Sophie Swanson, Shelby Bartlett, and Abbie Huberty. Congratulations ladies!! Also along the away the judges will often watch so many routines, but there are one or two that stick out in their minds and they want to recognize it by giving them a special award.
