After a nation-wide search, Davenport has chosen a new director of parks and recreation. This afternoon, the city announced the hiring of Scott Hock, currently assistant director of parks in Urbandale, Iowa. He was one of three finalists interviewed earlier this month for the position formerly held by Seve Ghose who resigned last summer to take a job in Oregon. Prior to working Urbandale, Hock held recreation and parks jobs in Ames, Kansas City Kansas, and Shenandoah Iowa. Hes scheduled to start his new job in Davenport in April, with a salary of 98,000 dollars.
