After a week of reading about deflated balls, inflated egos, overpaid football players that abuse animals and their wives...in addition to coming to the rescue of a Springer surrendered to a shelter yesterday because of a backyard breeder who obviously did not screen their buyer or offer any assistance when the dog needed help I am deeply offended by the GoDaddy ad and have signed the petition to ask that it not be played during the Super Bowl. I would also ask GoDaddy (seriously what kind of name is that for a company anyway???) take the ridiculous amount of money they paid for this advertisement and donate it to benefit animals in their community. I also want to be clear that while I personally would prefer people to adopt not shop I understand and respect why people make the choice to purchase a purebred dog from a quality breeder. I have the utmost respect for responsible breeders who screen their potential homes, produce limited numbers of healthy dogs and are dedicated to improving and preserving their breed. Off my soapbox now - please sign!
