After a week with the inspiring Bob Carr , I like to send you all this .....a project were he is working on . You can see pictures on his facebook page ( Robert N. Carr, Jr. ) In the letter below he explain..... Invest in Macrobiotics…Your Future, the World’s Future For 40 years I used my home in Cleveland Heights, Ohio (USA) as a teaching center, hosting macrobiotic classes, dinners, consultations, shiatsu sessions. Macrobiotics is actually not a “go to school to learn” thing. It’s about having a long, healthy happy life and seeing your home as the source of your nourishment and life. So along with learning about food & cooking, you have family and friends and your lifestyle which affects the rest of society and the world. When I started studying macrobiotics, it was with Michio and Aveline Kushi, the foremost proponents of healthy diet and lifestyle. We studied in their home. Their kids were running around, babies were crying and we learned living macrobiotics, practical cosmology. Every imaginable subject was covered, from how to make charcoal to the origin of the universe, from how to cook and grow food to the meaning of numbers and sound. From the things I learned from the Kushis and Aiharas and other macrobiotic leaders, I have been sharing, along with other life learnings, around the world as well as in Cleveland and the USA …..and now in the Czech Republic!. My first wife passed away and my children are grown-ups now and I recently remarried and recently had another baby. Life goes on. My wife is from the Czech Republic, where I met her as a guest teacher at the Czech Macrobiotic Club. We bought a 24 acre (10 hectares) farmstead in a remote region of the Czech Republic, where there is fresh air, little industry, a nearby national park, the best water in the Czech Republic and beautiful rolling hills and forests. The 140 year old building on the property was dilapidated and had to be torn down, saving as much of the old wooden beams as possible. A new structure has arisen on the solid foundation. Geothermal heat exchange and solar panels have been installed. The property cost approximately $100,000 and the new building structure another $200,000. The building has been divided in two parts. One is to be our living quarters, with 3 bedrooms, livingroom/kitchen, etc. The other part is to be a macrobiotic teaching center, with 15-20 beds, a huge lecture room (which can be a dance floor, yoga and shiatsu room, etc), separate kitchen and gathering room. What remains to be done (and paid for) is the following: plumbing, floors (all oak/hardwood, with floor heating), electric system and lighting, septic system, clay walls and painting, kitchen equipment and installation, furniture and landscaping. Additionally, the 20 acres (9 hectares) that are not the building and front and back yard…in other words the farmable part, needs a tractor and barn/storage/greenhouse to house it. On the farmable part will be different types of gardens: organic, biodynamic, permaculture and two small Russian (Anastasia) gardens and a Japanese (Fukuoka) garden. These latter two types of agriculture are cutting edge methods that can secure health in individuals in a manner that no medicine can approach. Especially the Natural Specific Healing Agriculture, developed in Siberia, produces plants to grow that are completely individual to a particular person’s constitution, condition and energy level, therefore completely specific. No medicine is tailored to your exact health status; rather prescriptions are general and generic. Each aspirin tablet in a bottle is the same. In Natural Specific Healing Agriculture, each plant grows for your needs and can get nutrients from the soil and energies from the sun and stars and nighttime sky that you exactly need. At least two acres of land will be planted with indigenous trees and plants for biodiversity and then let go wild: a refuge of Nature. Also needed are additional farm equipment and seeds and some ecology oriented workers . Many people are already interested in working this land and project. The additional approximate financial needs are $200,000 (150,000 euros). The macro teaching center will be offering cooking and general macrobiotic classes, plus studies in the above mentioned agriculture methods. We already have some famous European agriculture specialists eager to come see and teach as soon as the building and grounds are ready. Also, we will be offering yoga, Thai massage & shiatsu, music and dance classes, spiritual practice seminars (meditation, chakras, spiritual healing, bioarchitecture, etc.) and other pertinent topics to explore. The center will also be a retreat center, a get away from the rat race center, a place to see macrobiotics on a more pristine, organic, living level….down to earth, close to the ground. And people will be able to see many different types of agriculture, each with its own energy and healing powers, each leading to a different level of consciousness. This process, a living dream, is taking place, is underway, taking shape and form. Much still needs to be done and the more we secure additional funding, the sooner and more functional the macrobiotic center will be. I invite you to share in this dream….it is unique and universal.
