After classes, instead of traveling by bus, I decided to walk the 3 km distance because, a) It was the rush hour and had no intention of hanging onto the monkey bar while trying my best NOT to get my jaw or fingers dislocated OR become fully religious when the driver assumes that all the passengers are immune to gravity when he hit the breaks. b). I am turning into a baby elephant and exercise is much appreciated. This 20 minute walk was downright weird. Yes, weird. As in I didnt hear a single ආ නංගී talk, a mere whistle or a simple toot from a vehicle. No one said that මගේ අහවල් තැන ලස්සනයි or convince me to accept their little chits containing their bootaypul number. I was over the moon. As in I couldnt help but wonder maybe, JUST maybe the tables have turned. Maybe theyve realized that cat calling isnt all that badass, or theyve grown a pair of balls (දන්න හැටියට ගොඩක් අය ඔය දෙක e bay එකේ වෙන්දේසියට තියලලු නේ). I was all excited until I came home and saw myself in the mirror. I was still in my Karate kit (with a black belt and all). Have been wearing that for Krav Maga practices (because its super badass =P ) Sigh. I knew it was too good to be true. Nevertheless if you want to avoid street harassment, වහාම ක්රියාත්මක වන පරිදි get yourself a karate suit.
