After discussing the apparent recovery of certain species of animals along Californias coast (including white sharks) with Dr. Christoper Lowe, the conversation naturally switched to Western Australias violent response to white shark recovery. Western Australia is not alone regarding encounters with white sharks nor in regard to an apparent increase in the white shark population. Exactly why the WA government is hell-bent on killing animals despite the existence of alternative methods and evidence that shark culling does not increase safety, remains a mystery. The government is promoting fear rather than spreading education, telling the public that they are making them safer when they are not, and damaging the ecosystem while needlessly wasting tax-payer money and the lives of precious species of animals. At what point do you, even those of you who are afraid of sharks, decide that enough is enough and hold the government responsible for their actions?
