After eight years, I visited a very dear friend of mine back in Lausanne who is originally from Spain, Dr. Pedro Crespo Valero. Afterwards, he sent me an email which I found pretty valuable to share part of it with my other friends. Here is Pedros points: It was very pleasant meeting you. Keep being so well mannered, gentle (within reason :-) ) and optimistic with respect to the world despite the fact that it is not perfect. I think it is the right thing to do and somehow life gives you back what you give to life. It calls my attention how we humans change with the years. Some people claim that aging is good. It gives you experience and knowledge. It makes you respectable in our society. In some cultures the eldest used to be the guides and advisers of the tribes; in others, are the CEO and presidents of countries. Nonetheless, I realize that as we get older we tend to loose motivation and enthusiasm for little things, become more selfish, hide behind a mask and get remorseful due to injustices that we face. If you do not believe me, just observe a two years old kid playing in the street. How he gets excited and motivated with a simple balloon. He will not be able to sleep of excitement if you tell him that he will go next day to the zoo. Observe how he trusts and hugs you with real love and without hypocrisy. When I see this I wonder if getting older is actually absolutely the opposite of evolving. Where are all these virtues now? So, keep optimistic and do things with good conscience simply because it is the way you understand is right, not because other people do not do it right.
