After four years of the functioning of the Eastern Partnership - TopicsExpress

After four years of the functioning of the Eastern Partnership (#EaP) the time has come to say “check”. In their new text, Grzegorz Gromadzki and Łukasz Wenerski from IPA emphasize, that there is a growing awareness in Poland that 2013 is crucial for the EaP initiative. Not only in #Poland, but also in other #EU countries there is a strong need to verify the results achieved thanks to the EaP initiative. A measure of success will be, above all, signing the Association Agreement (#AA) with #Ukraine and initiating the AA with #Moldova, #Georgia and #Armenia at the EaP summit in Vilnius. Unfortunately, future perspectives are not optimistic. Yulia Timoshenko is still jailed, Moldova have a big problems in choosing new prime minister and in Georgia we see an escalation of political fight between President and Prime Minister. Success of the EaP summit in Vilnius is hardly to predict. How does Poland react to abovementioned events? What kind of actions undertake Polish authorities during a crucial year for this initiative? Is Poland prepared for different scenarios? To answer these questions, we encourage you to read a new policy brief of Grzegorz Gromadzki and Łukasz Wenerski Going forward anyway. Polish view of the crisis of the Eastern Partnership. The policy brief was prepared in cooperation with Bertelsmann Foundation within the framework of the project „OnlineAkademie-Dossier “The EU from the perspective of the Central and Eastern European member states” isp.org.pl/aktualnosci,1,1246.html
