After having many major meltdowns with a kiddo I work with an amazing Director of Autism and she shared that her functional behavior assessment was that said kiddo was struggling with his self confidence levels! Who would have thought? A kid with so much to give, never wrong and always seemed overly confident to us. What a facade he put on! And so we HAD to take action. We did research, we found ways to include him in BIG things! To give him the confidence he needed! He came to me today after working on this amazing young mans self confidence and said Ms. Wendy I passed out the flyers for our event! And guess what!?!?! I even had some one come up to me and ask me for a flyer! He was on top of the world! Now as he walks through the school he sees everyone in support of him with his logo on shirts, lanyards, keychains, flyers and more! And he knows that the items made are to help others like him in this world where being unsure and insecure may not always be apparent, but it is there!
