After listening to music for almost 25 years, Prtk Roy tells me to list out only 10 songs. While trying to list it, I find out that abolishing corruption from this country would have been an easier job. It was impossible to point out 10 songs; hence I have decided to recollect 10 songs that bring memories afresh from certain chapters of my life. 1.Gram Chara Oi Ranga Maati – This is the first song that I remembered to remember. Moreover being a Bongosontan and not listing a Robi Thakur song would have done injustice. 2.Mary Ann by Anjan Dutta – Reminds me a lot of early school days; when cassettes were played in tape recorders. 3.Someday by MLTR and Summer of 69 by BRYAN ADAMS official – My introduction to Western Music, which has gone on to become a bond that makes me realize now and then that life without this would have been incomplete. 4.Chingaari Koi Bhadke by Kishore Kumar – Memories of early crushes and very early efforts to try and grow up. 5.Ogo Priyotoma by Kishore Kumar – My Durga Puja song. Strolling out with friends, pandal hopping and eating out. This acts as a connection to my senior school days when Durga Puja was so different. Many things have changed since then but this has remained. 6.Talk by Coldplay – Rains are a beautiful natural event that puts life in human beings out of nowhere. I learnt how to prioritize the simple things in life setting aside the more complex ones namely love and relationships. 7.Echoes by Pink Floyd– Initially I learnt to enjoy my drink with my friends and then I mastered the art of drinking all alone. 8.American Pie by Don McLean– Reminds me a lot about my days in Pune and the beautiful company that I had. A company that was more than ready to share their music with me; and respect the ones that I had to share. 9.Noreweign Wood by The Beatles – Discovering my own music for different times and different ages. 10.Porpoise Mouth by Country Joe and the Fish – Because life is a mixture of sweetness, bitterness, sourness and hotness; which always seems to happen now. Surprisingly, somewhere in between that Gram Chara Oi Ranga Maati and Porpoise Mouth I suddenly grew up. Please go ahead and put on your thinking caps and list the 10 best songs that completes you.
