After living in Bryan/College Station with a municipally owned power company (BTU) I thought that the deregulation of public power was a bad thing. In Bryan, if I remember correctly, we were paying $0.085/KwH. When I moved to Dallas I thought Id be paying closer to 13.5+, but I got locked in at around $0.105/KwH. That being said, being on the 14th floor of a concrete building with very little direct sun, my bill hasnt been above $70/mo even in the summer.
