After living in Montana for over ten years, I guess it was - TopicsExpress

After living in Montana for over ten years, I guess it was inevitable. Tonight I hit a deer. It was horrific...it was the second group that had jumped out in front of me on my drive home at night on rural roads. There was nothing I could do. I pulled over, trembling from head to toe, and I jumped out of my car. All of the sudden there was a ton of traffic (again, hardly a soul on a typical night), ...one truck with three guys who were finishing up harvesting were stopped and saw the whole thing, and they graciously put their gloves on and pulled the deer off the road. Todd and the girls were behind me and arrived a few minutes later....Todd knew the guys, so they were all chatting on the road (aka Montana meeting) recognizing it could have been so much worse. Meanwhile, mama hitting a deer changed the course of questioning from the girls, which up to that point was all about the bear we had seen just a little while before.
