After looking around Jesus said to his disciples: “How difficult a thing it will be for those with money to enter into the kingdom of God!” 24 But the disciples gave way to surprise at his words. In response Jesus again said to them: “Children, how difficult a thing it is to enter into the kingdom of God! 25 It is easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.” 26 They became still more astounded and said to him: “Who, in fact, can be saved?” 27 Looking straight at them Jesus said: “With men it is impossible, but not so with God, for all things are possible with God.” 28 Peter started to say to him: “Look! We left all things and have been following you.” 29 Jesus said: “Truly I say to YOUmen, No one has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for my sake and for the sake of the good news 30 who will not get a hundredfold now in this period of time, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and fields, with persecutions, and in the coming system of things everlasting life. 31 However, many that are first will be last, and the last first.”
