After looking through all the legal papers sent to me by the dept of the interior and from the class action suit, cobell vs. salazar in which 3.4 billion was awarded to the western tribes for a lot of misbehaviour on the part of the goverment officials, it seems 1.5 billion is to be payed back to us, the little people. and 1.9 billion to be used to buy back our land intrest at fair market value. Now if I thought it would actually benefit the tribe, Id say yes. But I smell a rat somewhere in the mix. In the words of chief Red Cloud, they made us many promises, more than I can remember, but they never kept but one. They promised to take our land, and they took it. Why not just give the land to the people, and the 1.9 billion they swindled? That sounds like a better deal to me. Thats my rant and Im stickin to it.
