After observing a number of posts from frustrated indie artists I - TopicsExpress

After observing a number of posts from frustrated indie artists I have decided to give away some knowledge for free... If you are pursuing a career in the music industry and have not invested in a way to independently capture and document your fanbase, you are in for a long, frustrating, unproductive haul...the truth is that no one cares about how hot you are... no one cares if the streets love you... no one cares about your movement... no one cares how good YOU think your music is... no one cares how much you hate mainstream music and the system that delivers this music to the masses... In the digital era, people want PROOF... and when I say people I mean check writers... advertisers, product placement specialists, brand managers, retail/wholesale buyers, radio programmers and sponsorship execs... Now, that proof can come in a number of ways, but rest assured, FB likes dont count...FB owns those people... Twitter followers dont count...Twitter owns those people... Reverbnation, iTunes, Amazon, CDBaby, Live Mixtapes, etc dont count either... If YOU dont have smartphone numbers, credit card/debit card numbers, home addresses and primary email addresses in your OWN database, then you dont have ANYTHING...period... My strong suggestion is that you ask around and research ALL of the different ways you can collect this very valuable information on YOUR fanbase... Now, do I know how to do these things? Absolutely...but I dont share that info for free...nor do I help people execute the many different ways to build a database for free... If you are seeking my assistance, be prepared to pay for my time and resources... if not, I wish you luck on your journey...
