After our last trip to Walmart, and having observed the denizens - TopicsExpress

After our last trip to Walmart, and having observed the denizens and interesting clientele of that esteemed retail establishment, I had a philosophical question come to me that begs further reflection: Is it the nature of the establishment that draws the most unabashedly unique individuals to frequent the premises, or is it the nature of the premises, and the associated stigma, thanks to social media, that influences people to disregard social norms and show up in the most unabashedly free-spirited clothing they can possibly hope to wear in public? I know for us personally, I can be outfitted in ranch gear that would make a sailor blush and my wife can have work clothes on that she would never wear on a public street in town, and Ill say, ah, no biggie, were going to Walmart. Perhaps I have my own answer. And before anyone comments, please know that when you live in the country, Ill be the first to tell you its the one place you can go, whether or not youre a dyed in the wool liberal or staunch conservative, you are treated the same and a lot better than in many upscale establishments in big cities. its a community unto itself, and were all members.
