After reading former South African President Thabo Mbeki’s words - TopicsExpress

After reading former South African President Thabo Mbeki’s words to intellectuals at a University in South Africa, I can only say one thing….Robert Mugabe is a hero! He has a mind that most of us Africans do not have. He is one of the few people in key positions who speaks his mind to the so called ‘powerful’ and stands for our interests as Africans. The ‘powerful’ look down on us and want to colonise us indirectly and guess what, most of the time they have succeeded at this because of our mindsets. We have ourselves to blame. Our Republican Vice President Guy Scott may be white but he has a black man’s heart. He lashed out at South Africans as being backward because some things they do are as a result of influence from the ‘powerful’ who have a particular interest in South Africa because of the huge white population in that country, this the ‘powerful’ admitted in the past. If most of our African leaders had a mind like that of Mugabe, Africa would not be indirectly colonised the way it is now. We as sellers of most raw materials would determine the prices, we would dictate the direction of our economies, we would stand for what is right, defend our regard for culture and religion and denounce things like gay rights with one big united voice, there would be no war in the east of DRC and other parts of Africa where there are wars that have a ‘powerful’ hand in them, in short we would be self reliant instead of depending on the ‘powerful’ donor aid that come in a box labelled ‘terms and conditions apply’! Am NOT a racist but chilankalipa saana! I mean if we are equal in humanity, somebody tell me why it has to be a challenge and/or an achievement for Africans to hold key positions of Government in ‘powerful’ countries with particular reference to Italy and Germany and USA. In Africa, we give senior Government positions to white and we don’t make a big deal out of it nomba vice versa kutukwa beebele! Imagine if a Zambian minister uttered any racist words towards Dr. Scott, hmmm….first ‘some people’ would trace his roots considering that he was born in Africa and influence those ‘roots’ to rise against Zambia! Italians have literally insulted our Congolese-born sister serving in that country’ Government, lusele nshi elo tabamutuka but coz as Africans, we have not retaliated in any way not because we don’t want to but because we fear the ‘powerful’ might punish us further. On the other hand, there are people from ‘powerful’ countries that have great hearts and do not feel superior to other races. I have a Norwegian friend and he does not look down on me. We have a great friendship like brothers. But all I am saying is as Africans we need to start changing our mindsets for the sake of our future generations. We need to learn to stand for the right thing and what is best for us. If we can start teaching our youths today, to learn to be proud as Africans, accept the natural co-existence of various races on Earth, treat each race as equal to the other and not accepting to be looked down upon by any race, one day things might change for the better….One Africa….One World….One Love !!
