After requesting some CT scans for my sinuses which are still blocked, mechanically, after being gang bashed when I was 18... I was discussing my diet with the doctor in the context of my sinus issues and the implications of it i.e., nothing that I eat would be causing excess mucous production, I dont drink, I dont smoke...I only eat fresh fruit and veg...my lifestyle should not be causing such chronic (9 years) sinusitis...considering I have been plant based for 4 years... After I said I was plant based (vegan) he, of course, requested that I have full Iron studies... Well here are my Iron studies. Everything is normal. Also note the very low urea levels...this is because Im not consuming the urea of other animals and I do not eat excess protein which must be processed by the kidneys, which then excrete urea as a waste product. I eat enough protein (less than 10% of my calories, probably closer to 5%). I take no supplements and only eat raw fruit and veg plus some fermented vegetables. I add flax seed to my smoothies. I dont just focus on macro nutrients (80/10/10 or high-carb, low-fat) I also make sure I eat micro nutrient dense foods. regardless, my sinuses are not draining properly due to mechanical blockages and I will need sinus surgery.
