After seeing many status updates regarding police brutality - TopicsExpress

After seeing many status updates regarding police brutality lately; I come to wonder if anyone knows what the stats are for actual cases (police found guilty) of police brutality in the past 3 years versus those from 2010 and prior??? I have family and friends who are police officers and do an amazing job. I do not believe any of them would ever use excessive force unless they were in fear of their lives or someone elses around them. My opinion is this: the media is doing a great job of showcasing different events from their viewpoint of police brutality. Because of all the extra attention to it lately, it seems many people are making claims of police brutality. So, if anyone has actual research of police brutality cases that point to an increase in the past several years...please share. What I think would be a GREAT idea is the media actually portraying stories of police officers and military in a positive light instead of being the evil badge-wearers. I have seen it too many times with the media constantly focusing on the few bad seeds within the schools that I have taught instead of focusing on the good seeds that have done extraordinary things. Just seems that the people we will call to protect us, have been given a lot of bad publicity lately and I am sick of it. I am sorry to those who have had bad interactions...we have ALL had bad interactions with people in any job. One day we will all need a First Responders help...wonder if we will thank them for their constant sacrifice after helping us??? I know I owe my sons life and mine to many police officers...a few bad seeds will never replace the good those officers did for us. ****Rant Over***
