After sending illegal out-of-state monitors to disrupt the Measure 92 recount, the Monsanto-backed No on 92 Coalition is at it again: This time, publicly attacking efforts to count the votes of 4,600 Oregonians, many of whom are elderly or disabled. It’s no surprise. The big pesticide and junk food companies who rely on GMOs to fill their corporate coffers have fought tooth and nail against Measure 92 every step of the way. This is just the latest example of massive corporations so desperate to protect their bottom lines that they’ll do anything to kill GMO labeling in Oregon. We’re seeking a temporary restraining order to prevent the state from certifying recount results until those 4,600 improperly challenged ballots are counted. With Measure 92 trailing by a razor-thin 812 votes in the initial count, the counting of these valid votes could easily change the outcome of the recount.
