After several calls with St Peters Hospital, here is the most current info. My total right knee replacement surgery is scheduled for 8:45 Tuesday morning, September 2. I must arrive at 5:45 to be checked in and prepped. My husband can then come in and wait with me until Im moved to the OR. I seem to remember being slightly sedated last time so perhaps Ill doze while waiting, otherwise we will both sit there bored, waiting, waiting. Meanwhile, I spend the weekend waiting, relaxing, thinking of anything I forgot to do in prep. I need to read the literature they gave me and shower over the next four days with the special soap only on my surgical area. Tuesday morning, need to get up about 4 am to shower one last time with special soap and just shampoo. No powders, lotions, hair products, mouthwash, no meds nor anything to eat or drink since midnight. Nothing else to note until Im home later in the week beginning recuperation. I had the left knee done a little over two years ago and entered hospital Tuesday, home Thursday night. Hope its that quick this time!
