After several cancelled pelagic trips due to weather, tomorrow I head out on only my second trip this year so far!! And the conditions are predicted to be quite ridiculous... a 1,3m swell (does that even count as a swell?) with a 3 knot wind gusting up to 5 knots (as a Capetonian, that is definitely not wind...!!) and a temperature of 33 deg C! Its like we are going to sea somewhere in the tropics, not in the southern ocean!! Nevertheless, I really cant wait to lay my eyes on some albatrosses, petrels and shearwaters again and, hopefully, a few cool cetaceans too! Its been too long...:D
