After storm events of any kind, the following question always - TopicsExpress

After storm events of any kind, the following question always comes up. Who is responsible for the clean-up of the trees that were cut? The answer is that it is always the responsibility of the owner of the trees and not the electric utility. Southwest cuts whatever needs to be cut to restore power and leaves it where it was cut. That is the standard practice of all utilities that we know of. With all the limbs and trees broken from the storm, it would be almost impossible to determine what we cut versus what was done by the storm or someone else.
