After stressing last night about the road trip from Lecce to Sicilia, (550ks) and a whole lot of rubbish on Trip Advisor, the road trip was a dream. Beautiful scenic tour along the South coast, good roads and then over some of the most amazing civil engineering feats I have ever seen. Roads crossing gorges and passing through tunnels - no wonder the Italians are asked to build roads all over the world! Arrived at La Verduta in Scillia (20ks north of Calabria on Joinian Sea) where our bedroom (with balcony) is a putt away from the sea. What a setting for a local red and plate of pasta!! Eat your hearts out!! Hope the liver will last the trip! Soooo much fun!
