After taking the girls to school, I was a few minutes early to get into the grocery store. As I sat there, watching the sun rise, enjoying the cool balmy early morning air, the bells of the church began to ring. Loud. Clear. Never hesitating. Boldly telling everyone that could hear a new hour was upon us. A new day had begun. 9/11 - Oh what a day. A day to remember, a day to grieve, a day to boldly, loudly, and confidently let the world know and our enemies see that we are still a strong nation to be feared; not just for our size, but for the what keeps a country of our size so solidly united: the roots of love. Love of country - our service men and women VOLUNTEER their lives, no one makes them serve. And that will always push a man a little farther. Because with love comes hope. Hope for a better tomorrow, hope that our children never need to face the enemies of today. Love of each other. We are vast and varied, but when it comes right down to it, weve got each others back. And yes, love for God. God is what brought our forefathers here, God is the eternal being that we have trusted for 200+ years, in feast and famine, war and trials. With the devil all around He has ALWAYS brought us through. God wears a different face and even name for many of us, but in our hearts we all call on Him. Today, as we bow our heads, maybe in a moment of remembrance at work, or around the table with the family, or in a car on a beautiful Fall morning, remember to love, remember to ask for peace no matter what the cost, and remember to thank God that we are free men and women, remember to be a proud American.
