After the dust finally settles on the referendum and we have all - TopicsExpress

After the dust finally settles on the referendum and we have all finally done our piece to shape Scotlands future there will be a period of tense waiting, excitement and of course hope. This got me to thinking, what happens next? In the event of a No vote, the Better Together guys can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that they have succeeded in what they think is best for the country. Their fears of the unknown, the unanswered questions and that Alex Salmond will finally be out of the spotlight. Some may even enjoy a wee dram or two safe in the knowledge that they have done all they can. Things feel safe again, things feel certain and thats a good thing. Relief is the order of the day, now lets get back to normal. Yes campaigners will be crushed, dreams, hopes and aspirations for a better nation through autonomy will be dashed. Their vision of Scotland will never come to fruition, a hard conclusion to come to, but one we will have to accept and move on. For the Yes camp, things wont get better, we go back to Westminster battered and bruised but safe in the knowledge that we tried, we stood up and tried our hardest to make that change happen. Westminster now have to accept that a large portion of the country is vastly unhappy and wants change, that change will never come. In the event of a Yes vote there will be a huge groundswell from the home grown grass roots Yes movement, the absolute joy and excitement at an opportunity to steer Scotland on a global stage, an opportunity to finally be in control of Scotland, political parties will come together to negotiate Scotlands independence and separation from the UK under the banner of #teamscotland. Things may well be uncertain, but one thing is sure, we really will all be in it together, we can steer our own country to success and are no longer beholden to a Westminster Government that we had no say in choosing. Political boundaries will shift, alliances will be formed for the good of the country not just of the few in Westminster; Scotland will change, Scotland will grow and evolve; times will be good, times will be bad but they will be our times, we control the destiny of our country not anyone else. The No camp will understandably be let down, all their hard work and campaigning will feel like it was for nothing, however after a period of time things will get better for them, they will start to see that actually, this autonomy malarkey might not be so bad after all. They will see the benefits of a written constitution, of reformed fiscal policies and self governance, sure it may be a bitter pill to swallow but things for them, will get better. What Im trying to say is that for a No voter in an Independant Scotland they can at least be in control of their government, if they dont like it, change it. In the event of a Yes vote, No voters will have the benefits of an independant Scotland, the story for them is one of a hopeful bright future. For the Yes campaign post No vote, there is no optimism, there is little hope; only more of the same old same old from Westminster. Independence really is a Win WIn for all parties involved, voting No will only result in more of the same. As yourself this question if youre voting No, are you happy with our current government? Are you happy with the path they have led us down, illegal wars, huge deficits and poverty stricken lands? If you are happy with it, then by all means vote No, however if for one second you have felt aggrieved or unhappy with the government then please think again. You have a real chance to shape not just Scotland forever, but the world. Please take that step with us and consider voting Yes
