After the events of 9/11/01, I was laid off from my job in fundraising for a non-profit agency. I needed money, so my friend Lisa Feliesha Parker Alexander told me about a job as a legal secretary. I took the job, but I told the attorneys that I would only be there for a short time because I was going to apply for my teaching certificate and teach in Broward County, FL. I worked there for two years. CA Nardiello Tolchinsky, a former secondary English teacher and the wife of one of the attorneys I worked for, would not let me forget what I said.
