After those last two photos Ive justpromised myself to take more such photos of litter and share them until we get policies to stop this: funding to wildlife police and local government so they can do something to catch anybody doing anything illegal; local byelaws where needed, for example to ban releases of balloons and sky lanterns from council land; policies which outlaw things which are harmful but not yet illegal, such as balloon releases, or microplastics in products. In the long term we need laws which require manufacturers, retailers, and importers to only make and sell things which follow cradle-to-cradle principles: things can be disassembled after use, so that components made of separate materials can be disposed of separately; no hazardous materials to be used at all; all materials to be either fully compostable or fully compostable. Id also like to see hefty deposits in the price of anything that isnt totally compostable (it should still be totally recyclable). Then even if unethical or ignorant people did drop litter at least some other person would come along and pick it up, if only to claim the deposit.
