After trailing by as many as six points early in the second quarter, the two time defending NBA champion Miami Heat took control of the rest of their game with the Atlanta Hawks. Led by reigning MVP LeBron James, who scored ten of his 13 points in the second quarter, the Heat came back to take a one point lead at halftime. In the third quarter, Mario Chalmers took over; scoring nine straight points for the Heat as they led by as many as 14 points in the quarter on their way to a 104-88 win. Chalmers finished with 14 points while Chris Bosh led the Heat with 19 points and Ray Allen had 17 points off the bench.
