After twelve hours away from home, I DID manage to get the chickens fed before dark and the dogs fed by flashlight. The horses have a big round bale of hay, so they can skip supper tonight and munch on hay. I am not riding them enough right now to feel guilty about letting them skip one meal. The two day old baby chicks are doing fine. One hen has three, the other eleven. The chicks that were born last week are doing fine. Their wing feathers are growing out. Our dogs did not get their usual run today, so we will take them out with the golf cart tomorrow. I do hope they sleep well tonight. As tired as I am I do not want them to wake me up at two in the morning. God bless each of you. Rest well tonight.
