Aftermath of Kano bomb attack: Grandma, mother of blast victim die in 3 days on August 03, 2013 at 3:41 am in News By Francis Jakpor It appears the last has not been heard about Monday’s bomb blast in Sabon Gari, Kano, as two relatives of one of the deceased have died within three days after the tragic incident. Sources told Saturday Vanguard that Thomas Olayi Eneji, 35, from Bekarawa LGA, Cross River State, was at the venue of the incident for a drink when the blast occurred, charring his hand and face beyond recognition. But that was only the start of the tragic story, because on Tuesday this week, his grandmother was said to have given up the ghost on hearing the news of his untimely death; while his mother also died the following day (Wednesday). Thomas, who until his death was the first son of his parents, is survived by a pregnant wife who has summarily become a widow in the wake of the incident. His corpse was moved to Calabar yesterday amid tears of relatives and friends. On Monday this week, suspected terrorists detonated four bombs at a drinking ‘joint’ in Sabon Gari, where most non- indigenes reside. The first of the series of explosions was said to have occurred around 9:12 pm, while the others followed in quick succession. So far, casualty figures are conflicting, with some saying as many as 20 persons lost their lives and others as few as six.
