Aftermath of months-long strike: Benue schoolkids become hawkers, mechanics.Everyone involved is counting loses as the primary sch teachers strike in Benue State enter its eighth month. The pupils especially those from economically deprived home have taken to menial jobs and petty trading. The Chairman of Otukpo NUT Ude Adole admitted to the death of 20 Teachers with so many others since the strike. Suswan however is said he has option than to retrench workers and that his adminstration has compiled names of civil servants to retrench since the sacrifice is necessary to bring the children and teachers back to school. He equally direction 25% reduction of his salary and that of his political appointees and appealed to NLC to shift ground considering the future of those kids.
