Afternoon thunderstorm update: The Shreveport office did an 18z - TopicsExpress

Afternoon thunderstorm update: The Shreveport office did an 18z (1pm) upper air sounding and it indicated a very strong cap around 800mb (6500 ft). Though we didnt do an 18z sounding, there are similar conditions here as indicated in our latest model data. This cap is expected to remain in place for the rest of today, meaning the threat of thunderstorms will be very limited across the local area for the remainder of today. A few elevated storms could still develop this afternoon, mainly along/north of the interstate corridor. It still looks like thunderstorms will be more likely Monday and especially Monday evening through Tuesday morning as the cold front gets closer to the local area. There is still a SLIGHT RISK of severe weather late Monday through early Tuesday.
