Age 17, my first job was as a Line Dance Teacher. It was my first business really. I taught line dancing for 2 hours per day, 5 days per week and generated more money each week than most people could make in one month (similar age and location) Then at 19 I got a proper job. Followed by another proper job 8 weeks later. Then another after 18 months. And again after 6 months. And that was my pattern of work until I was 25. Working 8.30am - 5.30pm 5 days per week. The most money I ever earned was £8.50/hour (£15K/year) Next I became a ballet teacher and worked up to 4 hours per day. I made £30K in my second year. Then I opened a dance studio. I had a baby. Couldnt teach so employed staff. At one time, I ran the business from 80 miles away during my babys naps. I dont like working 37 hours per week. Yet I felt guilty about only working 4 hours per day. Ive totally gotten over it now however. Ive been reviewing my last 12 months in business and whilst I dont record my hours I know that I only work between 9.00am and 3.30pm, Mon-Fri with the occassional weekend if suits me and my family. Last Christmas I had 4 weeks off work, 3 1/2 at Easter and 7 1/2 for summer. I go to fitness classes during the day, meet friends for coffee and lunch, and I still make more money than I ever made in employment. I like this way of working. My little boy has me when he needs me, I do the school run at a leisurely pace, I have time for ME and things I want to do, and I get to help women who dont like looking in the mirror look great and feel fabulous. And now its time for the next step. Teaching other women how to work this way for themselves. Helping women see that there is a different way of living, working and being, that isnt exhausting and doesnt require you to sell your soul! Next year, Im going to be working with a small group of women who share my passion for saying NO to the Fashion & Beauty industry, who see every womans true beauty, and want to help women look and feel their very best. Im going to be working with them very closely to show them how to run a profitable, enjoyable and rewarding business that suits them and their chose lifestyle. Interested? Want to know more? Get in touch - Id be delighted to share!
