Aggie Football Introduces 2014 Recruiting Class By Justine Gaskamp Goodwell, Okla. — OPSU Head Football Coach Russell Gaskamp announced the Aggies 2014 Signing Day Recruiting Class via video conference Wednesday afternoon. In his statement, Gaskamp expressed his excitement for this years incoming class and highlighted four main points of approach that he and his staff focused when selecting players to join the Aggie Football Family: 1. Rebuilding the offensive line, 2. Overall team speed, 3. Versatility/being able to play multiple positions and enhancing special teams, and 4. Character and making sure each individual would fit in well with the current team members, campus, and community. Gaskamp feels that each of these young men will be great additions to the squad and states that in 2014...WE WILL! Introducing the 2014 Aggie Football Signing Class: Jamon Allen, WR, 510, 160, Seguin HS (Arlington, TX) —A speedy receiver who stretches the defense with his ability to catch the deep ball. Good route runner who is also a willing blocker. Levi Andrews, WR, 510, 165, LA Vernia HS (LA Vernia, TX) —One of the fastest and most elusive players in the signing class. Makes explosive plays as a receiver as well as in the return game. Brice Chambers, OL, 62, 290, North Mesquite HS (Mesquite, TX) —A very tough and physical offensive lineman who wreaks havoc when he pulls. Stays engaged on defenders downfield. R.J Dantzler, DB, 58, 180, Southmoore HS (Moore, OK) —A well-built defensive back who can play physical against the run and break well on the ball. Vontrick Davidson, LB, 6, 209, Bryan Adams HS (Dallas, TX) —A quick and athletic player who has a nose for the football. His explosive first step allows him to routinely disrupt plays in the backfield. Matthew Granz, OL, 62, 315, Victoria East HS (Telfernes, TX) —Has a good combination of size, athleticism, and physicality as an interior offensive lineman. Finishes plays downfield and excels as a pass blocker. Kimbrick Jones, DB, 59, 160, Richardson HS (Richardson, TX) —A very athletic cornerback with natural instincts and good ball skills. Jake Kee, RB, 510, 165, Gatesville HS (Gatesville, TX) —One of the fastest players in the signing class. Very instinctive and hard to catch in the open field. Shows versatility as a returner as well. Larry Lambeth, LB, 6, 215, Millwood HS (Oklahoma City, OK) —A two way player in HS who is projected as a LB. A strong and athletic player who is a very reliable open field tackler. Zacari Lavender, WR, 6, 175, Gulfport HS (Gulfport, MS) —An excellent athlete that shows big-play ability at any given time. Gifted route runner who routinely picks up extra yardage after the catch. His combination of length and athleticism allows him to disrupt timing. Kwame Nkemakolam, DE, 64, 210, SA Cornerstone HS (San Antonio, TX) —A raw athletic player with a long frame. Has the ability to become an exceptional pass rusher. Geoffrey Nwarie, RB, 510, 193, J.J. Pearce HS (Dallas, TX) —Natural running back with good instincts and power. Has good vision and awareness which allows him to find holes in the defense with ease. Cullen Oliver, OL, 62, 275, Victoria East HS (Victoria, TX) —Natural center with good lateral movement. Darnell Reed, ATH, 60, 190, Skyline HS (Dallas, TX) —A pure athlete who creates separation from defenders in an instant. One of the most versatile athletes in the signing class with the ability to play on either side of the ball. Malcolm Rogers, LB, 62, 200, Seguin HS (Arlington, TX) —A very physical two-way player in HS who is projected as a LB. Uses his length and athleticism to shed blocks. Very good open field tackler. Alex Sanders, OL, 6, 230, Elk City HS (Elk City, OK) —Quick center who moves well on the offensive line. Has a good motor and finishes plays. Jamal Smith, LB, 63, 215, University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (Rowlett, TX) —An elite athlete with immense talent that will allow him to make an early impact. Very fast off the edge as a rusher with the ability to cover speedy receivers in the slot. Jourden Stanley, ATH, 58, 175, Marion HS (Marion, TX) —A natural athlete with elite skills on both sides of the ball. 2013 All-Area Player of the Year who is a strong and elusive athlete with the ball in his hands. Michael Weaver, WR, 62, 175, Berkner HS (Richardson, TX) —A long and tough receiver who has good speed and athleticism. Made a huge impact even while playing with two broken hands as a senior in HS. Devyn Williams, WR, 6, 170, Killeen HS (Killeen, TX) —A natural athlete with great hands and playmaking ability. His vision makes him very dangerous in the open field after the catch. Dominique Wyatt, DL, 63, 290, University of Central Oklahoma (Rowlett, TX) — An extremely strong and physical player which will make him a force to reckoned with on the defensive front next season.
