Peter Nwaoboshi (right) & others listen Exactly five days to the much anticipated Delta Central Senatorial bye- election, Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan today engaged PDP leaders in the district in a 2-hour close door meeting at the governor’s office annexe in Warri, Fresh Angle can authoritatively report. Though newsmen were shut out from the meeting, FreshAngle can report that the 2- hour close door meeting which was tagged Delta Central Senatorial district stakeholders meeting was attended by solely PDP leaders in the district with no visible presence of representatives of Democratic Peoples Party, DPP and the recently merged All Progressives Congress, APC. Our Correspondent reports that the meeting which started at few minutes past 10 am and was rounded off few minutes to 1 pm was attended by the State Deputy Governor, Prof. Amos Utuama, Delta State PDP Chairman, Barr. Peter Nwaoboshi, PDP former flag bearer for the district in the last election that produced late Senator Akpor Pius Ewherido, Chief Ighoyota Amori, the Delta State Commissioner for Higher Education, Prof. Hope Eghagha, transition committee chairmen of Okpe and Uvwie local government areas, the member representing Uvwie Constituency in Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Efe Ofobruku, Chief Faith Majemite as well as the PDP Chairman of Okpe local government, Chief Cosmos Ighoraye. Before the meeting went into a close door section, governor Uduaghan had told newsmen that the state government will provide adequate security for the senatorial bye- election billed for Saturday October 12. While vowing that his administration “will not allow miscreants to overtake the state”, Dr. Uduaghan advised political parties to avoid electoral violence during the bye- election. He warned non Deltans to stay away from the election, promising that adequate measures have been put in place by the state government to ensure a free, fair and credible poll.
