Ahh, theres nothing like removing the lunatic rantings of a Supreme Court Justice from the eyeballs by reading a bit of Thomas Jefferson and James Madison who actually WERE THERE when the Constitution was written and understood the TRUE meaning and application of the First Amendment. Congress should not establish a religion and enforce the legal observation of it by law, nor compel men to worship God in any manner contrary to their conscience, or that one sect might obtain a pre-eminence, or two combined together, and establish a religion to which they would compel others to conform (Annals of Congress, Sat Aug 15th, 1789 pages 730 - 731). In other words, you are free to worship as you choose, OR NOT, and the First Amendment protects this. Secularists such as myself, are not fighting to be free of or from religion, but are ardently arguing that the government remain NEUTRAL as it cannot, and should not, be seen to FAVOR any over another as it SHOULD NOT favor any at all. #firstamendmentfundamentals
