Air Namibia took delivery of the first of two new A330-200 aircraft at the end of last month, with the second aircraft expected to join the fleet in November. The aircraft will primarily be used on the long haul route between Windhoek and Frankfurt and tie in with the airline’s network expansion and increased frequency plans. The A330 features a configuration of 244 seats, of which 30 are located in business class and 214 in economy class. Business class seats recline to full flat beds (180 degrees flat). All seats in the aircraft, including economy class, will have video/audio on demand with individual monitors for each passenger. Air Namibia has been using two Airbus A340-300 aircraft on the Windhoek-Frankfurt route, but their lease agreements expire in October 2013.
