Air Veterans at Their Best Our Friends will recall the landslide in Malin village,110 Km from Pune. 159 dead bodies were recovered from the debris and the village was totally devastated. An appeal for help was sent out from the AFA Maharashtra Branch. A sum of Rs1,50,000/- was collected and under the able guidance of Veteran Air Marshal Pingale and Hony. Fg Officer Ramling, steel cots and mixers were distributed among the affected families.(The Veteran Air Marshal also donates a sum of Rs5000/- everymonth to the AFA Branch at Pune which is utilised for helping our Air Veterans and their families in need.) The driving force behind all these activities is of course, Veteran Gp Capt Suhas Sadashiv Phatak. Great Job and Good Show Suhas! The AFA India hopes that many more people from within our fraternity will take up similar work on their own.
