Al-Akhbar newspaper is recruiting a “Network Support Intern” Tasks 1. Install, maintain and test the desktops and peripheral equipment (such as printers, cartridges and refills) 2. Install software and operating systems and configure computers (while maintaining licensing requirements). 3. Perform system and software updates. 4. Assist in asset tracking and make sure that asset registrar is always up to date. 5. Create user accounts for new users while maintaining password security requirements for all the required systems (email system, rapid browser, Active directory etc.) 6. Participate in backing up the systems in liaison with the IT operations manager. 7. Apply and maintain the SOE (standard operating environment) for new employees. Knowledge skills and abilities Knowledge of basic computer hardware. Experience with desktop operating systems including Windows 7and Mac OS X. Working knowledge of a range of diagnostic utilities. Good written and oral communication skills. Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on listening, and questioning skills. Ability to conduct research into a wide range of computing issues as required. Ability to absorb and retain information quickly. Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language. Keen attention to detail. · Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities. Personal attributes Highly self motivated and directed. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Exceptional customer service orientation. · Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
