Al-Hassan Ibn Ali said, “Those who were before you (the companions of Prophet Muhammad [PBUH]) realized the Qur’an as their Lord’s messages and therefore would contemplate them at night and pursue them during the day. The wondrous secret behind the power and vitality of expression is not in the glamour of words or the rhythm in the music of phrases. Rather, it lies in the power of faith in the inherent meaning of words and what lies behind the meaning; it is in that decisive insistence to transform the written word into live-action and the realized meaning into tangible reality. Sayyed Qutb “I never talked with someone but sincerely wished that Allah guard him, protect him from sin and misdeed, and guide him; and I never debated with someone but sincerely wished that we would come upon truth, regardless of whether he or I should be the one to think of it first.” Imaam Ash-Shaafi`i “The divine decree related to the believer is always a bounty, even if it is in the form of withholding (something that is desired), and it is a blessing, even if it appears to be a trial, and an affliction that has befallen him is in reality a cure, even though it appears to be a disease!” (Imam Ibn al-Qayyim) It is reported that a man came to ‘Abdullâh Ibn Mas’ûd (may Allâh be pleased with him) and asked, “Teach me some comprehensive and beneficial words.” He replied, “Worship Allâh and do not associate any partners with Him, and be with the Qur’ân wherever it is. And whoever comes to you with some truth – whether he is young or old, even if he is hated by you – then accept [that truth]. And whoever comes lying to you – even if he is beloved and close – then reject it from him.” Live as Long as you Will Posted by Muslimah on 12/01/2011 No comments Live as long as you will, for verily you must die. Love whoever you wish, for one day you shall taste its separation, and do what you will, you will be rewarded accordingly. Imam al-Ghazali “All humans are dead except those who have knowledge … And all those who have knowledge are asleep, except those who do good deeds … And those who do good are deceived, except those who are sincere … And those who are sincere are always in a state of worry [for others]” Imaam Ash-Shaafi`i It was said to al-Hassan, “O Abu-Sai’ed, which one will be screaming the most on the Day of Judgment?” He replied, “A man whom Allah (SWT) provided for him a grace, but he used it to disobey Allah!” He who keeps knocking at a door is most likely to get the door opened for him, so keep knocking at the doors of the heavens. Ibnul-Qayyem There is a huge difference between that man who has profound knowledge of himself and his Lord and the professor whose knowledge stops at the material and its laws. The real idiot is the one who knows about material while being oblivious of the Lord of the material Dr. Mustapha Mahmoud
