Al-Khidmat Foundation’s Relief Activities: After evaluating the situation, Al-Khidmat Foundation declared Mithi as their base camp. Al-Khidmat Foundation Sind, Dr. Syed. Tabassum Jaffri and President Al-Khidmat Foundation Tharparkar Mr. Mir Muhammad Baledi are overseeing Al-Khidmat Foundation’s relief activities. Since 7th March, 2014 Al-Khidmat Foundation has sent 8 trucks of aid to Mithi, carrying 1,000 ration packages, 14,885 kg rice, 1,575 bags of flour, 1,500 half-kg dry milk packets, 1,000 one-litre milk packets, 3,000 sugar packets of half-kg each, 3,500 packets of biscuits, 500 packets Ghee of 350 grams each, 500 kg potatoes, 220 kg of peas, 500 packets of tea, 300 tons of meat, and 6,000 bottles of water of 6 liters each. Biscuits and milk packets are distributed keeping in view the need of mothers and children. In association with PIMA Relief, Al-Khidmat Foundation arranged a medical camp in front of District Head-quarter Hospital Mithi, where 3 doctors assisted by 5 paramedical staff medically examined more than 2000 patients. Moreover, Al-Khidmat Foundation also arranged medical camps in Islamkot, Chachar, and Nagarpar. Free medicines have been provided to patients and two of Al-Khidmat Foundation’s ambulances are used to transport the patients to and from the hospital. More than 20,000 people, especially women and children have benefited from Al-Khidmat Foundation’s relief operation. Director Disaster Management Al-Khidmat Foundation, Mr. Ejazullah Khan along with his team reached Mithi. A kitchen will be constructed in Mithi which is used to feed more than 500 affectees each day. Considering the reliance of local population on livestock, Al-Khidmat Foundation has started a veterinary clinic in which veterinary doctors have been vaccinating livestock.
