Alain Ducasse Au Plaza Athenee “A shame to capitalism” 1 of 5 starsReviewed July 25, 2013 I believe that supply and demand set pricing, but something has gone very wrong here. After seeing the menu and its prices, we considered walking out. My wife and I are frequent gourmet and Michelin restaurants, but the pricing in this restaurant was obscene: 120 Euros for a fish dish for my 6-year old! 91 Euros for a side plate of vegetables! For a family of four meal (2 small children) who picked at their meals, our total bill was over 1100 Euros, with a nice but not extravagant bottle of wine. We were sick to our stomachs for days after that event. The food is michelin quality and the staff surprising friendly for a famous Paris restaurant, and there were a lot of them - probably 5-6 servers per table. It was a long meal that made the pain even more unbearable - never again will we go until they drop prices by more than 50%. People should boycott this place!
